I am going to go for simple but efficient, but I still am having trouble deciding....

The quality of the entries in all three of the competitions I've run has been great. Its lovely to see people putting in so much though for such a small prize and the spirit of mutual encouragement. What I do is very little - its the people who put the effort in that make these things such fun and this board such a great place to be

All the entries were worthy of winning, with some being truly works of art! However I based my vote on practicality as well as design. This is why I voted for Maverix, his design looks as if it could be set up very quickly, looks practical and impressive too. Great job.

I went for meverix, though i did like ozzawazzaaminnigizzanniii. or what ever your called

i liked your carving in the pot holder, but maverix simple physics won it for me.

This is not to say you all didnt do a good job, as you all did, a lot better than what i can muster up.

These are all beautiful - maybe there should be an art intallation at the moots!

In the end I went for Jon R's cos it looked good and fairly simple and there was a
charming inbuilt tutorial - I noticed that Leon also put up a tutorial in his original
post and I liked his very much too. Jon's pipped it to the post as there seemed
to be smaller bits of wood to shove in the ground and that's the bit I always find
hard!

Ditto Silverback's - nice and simple. Clever idea from SOAR (and presumably
Leon) allowing you to lift the whole bar rather than just the pot - I wonder if Jon
R's could be further improved by attaching a loop of cord to the lid and to the
main branch so that the lid could be winched up and left hanging when water
is removed or added, and quickly untied if you want to land the pot and keep
the lid on? Do these billycan things have lids with a bit for a loop?

Lou's was good too - and seems an excellent way of holding a handle-less pot.
I did wonder if the handle hanging down might get a bit warm though...

I think OMN's is just too beautiful to be put to use!

Maverix's intrigued me - it's very beautiful and the wood reminds me a bit of the
rowan twigs we made at Woodsmoke recently, but I expect the chance of me
recognising a wood from the bark alone is negligible! Very very clever - how
does the loop of cord work - it doesn't seem to be tied to anything but I suppose
it must be.

Twisted firestarter - nifty use of a carabiner but I couldn't quite see the rest of
the construction; I might have to go back to the original thread.

Lupus - I take it the cord on the left adjusts the pot height? Or is it just to
keep the crossbar steady? Bit of a teeny photo but a nice set up.

Biddlesby - that's clever and quite straightforward, although I think I'd make a
hash of getting the wooden uprights into the ground - or are they just sort of
balanced on top? Nice use of extra hook on handle.

Wayland - I nearly went for this one as it just seems to be three sticks gently
persuaded to balance like that which is wonderfully simple, although Jon's
embedded tutorial besmittened me! I assume it's tied together at the top
but are you using invisible cords - it's magic! Have you got a massive weight
on the other end behind the tree ;-)

Seoras - genius idea to find or put a hole in that bit of wood to thread it through,
and just one stick in the ground - like it.

Bam - yours looks like one of the sturdiest and well embedded with the V
surrounded by stones. Perhaps others are very sturdy too (I've honestly no
idea about this sort of thing!) but this one looks solid. You also get bonus
points for the pile of logs.

Big thanks to everyone for their comments and votes, first comp Ive entered with some trepidation too so im super stoked to have won it.

Jodie....thanks for your comments, it sure was sturdy and needed to be to hold the ammount of food I was eating that week in prep for my WEISS course the following week! lol It wasn't made to win a comp, it was made to use for the week and it stood up pretty well I'm pleased to say (Oh heck, I don't mean that as in the others weren't made to use....oh you all know what I mean anyway lol ).
