Hi

Kids have been complaining about their tent as it's really a sleeping only affair, was in decathlon the other day and spotted this

https://www.decathlon.co.uk/arpenaz-41-family-tent-4-man-id_8294502.html

Missus said she would camp as well If we had a bigger tent,so wife and two kids in sleeping area,I was thinking about bedding down in the porch area but I'm not sure if this is a good idea?

Anyone have one of these? Or can anyone recommend something similar around the same price bracket??

Thanks

Buster

Buster. What is your budget? We use the OzTent RV5. It is fantastic, and at 6ft3 I can stand up straight inside. However, it is a bit spendy to buy new and due to its built in frame, it is about 2 metres long when packed away, so wouldn't fit inside a normal car - mine travels on the roof rack on my Discovery.

Great deals to be had on E-bay though.

I have a QUECHUA tent similar to that but the door is on the side. It does have the same roof and in times of heavy wind and rain some water will get in, light rain it is fine and dandy, heavy rain little wind is ok. All other areas are fine and I have had it up in the back garden for 5 months now. So build quality is not an issue. The guy lines could be replaced but the tent itself is over 4 years old. I would say go for it (and unlike some others its in budget).[h=1][/h]

I have that tent, it's good height wise the only thing I don't like is the groundsheet for the porch isn't sewn in. But value for money wise I would say it's good

Thanks all, yeah I saw a few people mention the groundsheet thing, doesn't seem to be a deal breaker at that price point, let me know if you find a tarp for it.
