Indeed very nice. How did you manage the "smeary" (no pun intended o'cours) stained look? Looks great!

Another question: I have found some tutorials, but am still looking for the best way to emboss patterns on leather, and also some pointers to what kinds of leather will work, should I oil them in advance, etc. Would you have any idea?

I don't usually like solid colours on leather so i dye my work in layers.
It takes longer because you have to let one layer dry before adding another, it's just something i do to give my work a different look.
