there wernt many postings on her about essentials so here are some essentials you need for your small survival tin:

At least 2 methods to light a fire (I have 3: Matches, Lighter, Flint and steel)
First Aid Kit
Compass (Good One!) :D
Mini Maglite
Scissors
Big Knife
Victorinox Swiss knife
Sand Paper for a strike pad ETC
fish hooks
Fishing line:good for snares ETC
Tealights

You could have a look for "possibles" or "survival kit". You'll find loads of ideas in those kinds of threads. How good is fishing line for snares?

Condoms are very useful as long as they are spermicidal free of course.
They can hold on average approx 2 pints of water.
best used in conjuction with some sort of carrying aid though to prevent breakage - a mosquito head net for instance.

Your right and have a good point but don't forget, alot of men and women nowadays carry condoms!! :lmao:
And you shouldn't forget the best motto of them all.
"Be Prepared"
If you already have the gear you don't need to try and manufacture it yourself.
