Here are some photos of an early winter hike today in the Whiteshell Provincial Park, Manitoba, Canada. I took my new Ray Mears/Alan Wood Woodlore out for a bit of breaking in

These are the blades I brought along... a Woodlore and an Ed Caffrey EBK1 (which I pocket carry instead of a folder):
I built a small fire, with birch bark and dry grass tinder on a fatwood base in in the snow, which I lit with a firesteel using the Woodlore (worked like a charm!). I made some nice tea with Jack Pine needles::
