hi! just had a dremel style tool given to me and it has some good buffing bits with it and a few of my blades have scuffs on from my lanskey system and general use, can anyone recomend a buffing compound to get rid of the scuffs??
Thanks guys

I am not sure that I would bother with the Dremel buffing wheels. I have tried to use them with only marginal results and found it difficult to get an even finish on a large surface, like a blade.

Also, it is so easy to get a good finish by hand, without the use of power.

When you get to 800-1200 grit, back the paper with some thick leather and sand down the length of the blade, it is amazing how much better things look with all the scratch lines going parallel with the edge. If you want to go further, you can load a piece of leather with polish, such as Autosol, or Flitz (now available via Axminster Tools) and run the blade over that, like a giant strop.

I have to agree the Dremel buffing wheels don't really do much. I'd also say go with wet/dry sandpaper. You might try wetting the paper with a lubricant like WD-40. If you want the final finish satin, use scotchbrite pads.
