Axe protection collar.

So I've had this axe for quite a while and recently caught the top of the haft when splitting some fire wood. No major damage but I thought I'd make a collar for it. As you can see it's a bit rough and ready, I made it out of an thick canvas shirt since I had no suitably sized leather but it does have a strip of leather down the front to add to the protection.

Very Nice mate, Looks good but what's important is that it dose the job that you intend it too. Protect's the haft.

It's very much a user tool anyway so I think if it was really fancy and made of leather I wouldn't want to mess it up. Like you said function over form. Cheers
