A new belt for SWMBO

Just finished this platted leather belt for SWMBO, just one piece of leather, no joins or stiching and I'm pleased with this one too

While I feel honoured to be asked I'm really not at that stage just yet.

After the next couple of projects I'll see if I can put some pictures of the platting method into an undertandable order.

That's a better description than I could possibly manage at the moment.

I was shown how to do this by a saddler but I had no idea it was called either a secret plait or indeed a mystery braid.

Just shows that you never stop learning!

You are welcome. Cracking belt by the way. These mystery braids are really good for the loops on dangly sheaths.

just learnt how to do it(ish) but where did you get your leather from i fancy making one now ha haha

You can buy belt lengths from LePrevo leathers.
Remember to make the belt at least four inches longer than needed as you'll lose that much with the braiding.
