Just fancied a day out for a walk ,

Bit overcast walking down one of the disused Military ranges ,

The stop butts still in place ,

Looking good, thanks for sharing. :)

I assume magic biscuits and cones were used.

How did the Mkettle compare to your normal stove set up?

know the place well, used to live close to there many years ago as a youngster, the range was in use then and we would often dig out the spent bullets in the sandbank, the quarry at the end of the track in pic 1 was disused for some years and was a great playground holding loads of deer and plenty of snakes (the quarry was re-opened),

Always heard about the chase but never actually seen it despite being married to a clanger. Thanks for sharing the pics, looks a great place for bowling around...

Great pics man. Looks like a beautiful place for sure!!

I know what you mean about always spying golden places to pitch a camp that you can't use!

I found some spent bullets on a walk past an old WWII firing range on Ashdown Forest once, took some pics..

Me and my brother did a 14 miler on Cannock Chase around two years ago - part of it was over this rather large and steep hill. So there we are in all our gear panting and wheezing up this hill, sweat dripping off us.

We were feeling like true outdoorsmen until this bloke, who must have been around 70 (I kid you not) runs past us carrying a mountain bike - and he wasn't even breathing heavily .....

I much prefer to do my outdoor activities away from others now :)
