I must confess to having had no idea what "groundhog day" was all about until some 5 minutes ago, other than some now dashed hope it was to do with hunting the pesky varmint!

So, does anybody out there know if there is to be "6 more weeks of winter" or not after the varmint emerged from his "electrically heated burrow"?

I guess a UK "Red Squirrel Day" doesn't have quite the same ring but any and all suggestions welcomed!

Cheers

Apparently it has something to do with Phil the groundhog seeing his shadow when he emerges. He indicates this (how? how does he do this?) through a translator.

If he sees his shadow then yup it's six more weeks of winter.
Sorry I don't know what he said this year yet!
