    Little Mask for Carving Hatchet

It is. I've only swung it a little without actually creating something, but I have to say that I really do like it. The handle just feels as if made for my hands. I have full control from every angle and on every bit of the handle. The old handle had that angular shape which is now gone...

    Little Mask for Carving Hatchet

Hey there, I purchased a Robin Wood carving hatchet but the masks were out of stock, so I had to make one myself. I decided to try a rather trational style... IMGP0778 by DerWaldschrat1, auf Flickr The button is a piece of deer antler: IMGP0780 by DerWaldschrat1, auf Flickr The mask is...

    Olive Oil on Axe Handle?

I'd definitely stay away of any oil that easily goes rancid (meaning olive oil in particular)... The smell can get really bad. Linseed is good, as well as any oil that is used for furniture, finish with bee's wax.

Gourmet Farmer - Australian Homesteading Series

Hey guys, I've stumbled over this Australian homesteading series called "Gourmet Farmer" a while ago and thought this might be of interest. The search didn't show this in here, so I'll just put it up. All episodes (3 seasons) are available on youtube (some of them will require a more detailed...

Back To Nature. [Rewilding by Monbiot]

But that's the point actually. Romania is an excellent example imho. Wildlife can thrive there because - especially in the Carpatian Mountains - the landscape can't be changed as easily as it could in the rest of Europe because of the geological structure and of course there is not so much...

    poaching Quince

Hear, hear... didn't we have a wee talk about quince trees not being in your orchard (yet) earlier this year and now you're getting one? That rocks! I hardly know any fruit in the northern part of the world that is as versatile as quince in processing.

    Petromax HL1 lantern. Answered.

Don't get that one. Petromax has great stuff, but the HL1 definitely is not among it. You could go for the Feuerhand at the same price range, which is okay, but won't last forever either or you invest a little more and get the Dietz Hurricane Lantern in brass...

    Help please ….leather questions.

Well, although I haven't seen it you could try the following: 1. Wet leather a little with water. 2. Put a damp tissue or towel on the stains. 3. CAREFULLY press an iron on the towel/tissue (where the spots are of course). Ideally the glue you used is not water-soluble. It will heat up and get...
