    Suggest a leaving gift (knife)

Leaving my current job and have been asked what I'd like for a leaving gift. Normally, people get an engraved glass or something similar, being a non-drinker it would be a bit of a waste. I'd like a new knife though, any suggestions around the £40 mark, could possibly stretch to £50 for...

    Rucksack mods?

I have a snakeskin for the hammock, but there's no way I could fit the tarp in there as well. Also, if moving between sites, a damp tarp would get the hammock wet. As well as these 2 I also have a storage hammock, pegs etc for high wind/soft soil, and a few extra bits which will go in these...

    Rucksack mods?

Well I thought i'd push on with this and see how I go... Plan at the moment is 2 small-ish side pouches which will house Tarp on one side and Hammock on the other (plus a few associated pieces). I'll need something to put underquilt and topquilt in, but they are much bulkier so will probably go...

    Rucksack mods?

Spot on those, matey. 35cm is based on my packed tarp, I imagine with a bit of effort I can squish it down a bit smaller!

    Rucksack mods?

In some ways, you are correct... However, I believe it's designed to carry a tent and rollmat (and has attachments top and bottom). My hammock setup is lighter than I would be carrying if I was using a tent etc.

    Rucksack mods?

I like that stuff... Will have to look into sewing cordura pouches!

    Rucksack mods?

That was the way I was going, however i'm struggling to find a pouch of the right shape (approx 35cm long). Also, I'll probably have to hand-sew the webbing as getting the sewing machine in deep enough will be very difficult.

    Rucksack mods?

I've been using a Berghaus Free Flow rucksack for years, it has suited my needs perfectly and the fit is fantastic. However, I've now pretty much completely ditched the tent/roll mat in favour of hammock camping. Unfortunately, it's now getting difficult to pack a weekend into a single bag as I...

Advice about the dreaded eveil bay

Cant edit posts so apologies for the extra one...Hopefully he has saved the packaging. If so you COULD try and launch a complaint with royal mail to the effect that the item was damaged during their care. You'd need to prove that it was sufficiently protected. Not an easy course of action, but...

Advice about the dreaded eveil bay

Should you decide it's all legitimate and it was either damaged before you sent it or it got damaged in the mail, then i'd suggest getting the buyer to send it back to you and refund them the original costs of the sale. ie, winning amount & p+p (this should be the amount which he sent you by...
