i REALLY do want t go to this meet up , but my boss is away off sick( she'll be off for 3 months) so i wont know whether i can get there til a few days beforehand, i'll be gutted if i cant get there, but i may just turn up out of the blue .....

This open access you speak ov ?? Can i land a plane and camp the night ,without prior permission ??

Not sure about landing planes but you can camp in countryside up here without getting kicked off unless you are causing a problem. Open access laws aim for people to make use of the countryside for recreation. I've just found a cracking spot for overnight hammocking just over an hours walk from my front door.
