I think its the diode you can see when its zoomed in. Looks cool.

I can feel a late night walk with the dogs accross the fields coming on and i might see if i can make a red filter for it.

A little update. Just went for a dog all with my family. It great and the zoom function works well. Thanks for this awesome little torch at and awesome price. Luckily I didn't have to use the strobe to call a helicopter for our rescue.
