Again , the local supermarket planting scheme has impressed me.

There is a Yellow Gage tree rampantly abundant in fruit.

What can I make with it?

The usual suspects I imagine, jam, wine, dried fruit, fruit leather?

Fruit leather looks like it maybe a contender.

Don't think I have the patience or skill for Wine but an element of alcohol may slip in.... thinking that they like alcohol soaked cherries may take on an interesting flavour.

Also the Medlars are coming on nicely so I will need some suggestions for them also.

My dad planted several gages, he’s mad for fruit, his apple knowledge is incredible. The yellow gage is pretty much the exact same as the Greengage, we always thought it was sweeter, but that could be a mind thing due to the colour.

Anyway, good find, definitely scrump a few of them. Greengage jam is good, but lacks the flavour of damsons and plums.
