Can any one tell me why when i come to read topics i have to scroll right to the bottom of the page
to see the start of it . Is this the same for every one ? and can i change it ???

Look at the tool bar, find the box that says display, click box, click hybrid mode.

Now when you open a thread it's "the right way round"

You don't need to mess with your account setting if you don't want to.

You browser probably caches URIs that you viewed earlier, and if you just type "goto" in the location bar (where the URIs are) it might well show you a few.

Then you can use the down arrow key to pick one, and then use the left and right arrow keys plus backspace/delete to edit the URI. Saves a lot of typing.

I use this method of navigating more than clicking links because it's a lot faster and I can go exactly where I want in one move. I'd go insane if I could only use the mouse. Not that I use a mouse.

I forgot to mention that this stays set for ever or until you change it.
