There used to be a guy making repro jackets under the name www. extremeoutdoorclothing. com, but as far as I am aware the business closed, you might be able to find folk selling used examples.

RichardAUnderwood if you put his name in google he supplies German re enactment gear(had some kit off him when i did reenacting yrs ago did British but had some gear as props anyway i digress) he may be able to point you in the right direction for reversible jackets.

The common Swedish 45l is the M39 rucksack without pouches

And the M35 is the rucksack with.

As seen here

Nice pack, not dissimilar to the Norwegian canvas telemark type canvas packs, really like those reversible jackets too :)

The last mentions seem to be around 2006, which is when I remember coming across them. However, as this forum points out (and I remember seeing the discussion), they seemed to possibly have been made up for the film, rather than being the real thing http://iacmc.forumotion.com/t5738-repro-german-where-eagles-dare-reversible-parkas

However, if you want a repro of a similar jacket, they are pretty easy to find - have a look at the bottom to see which original one looks right http://www.germanmilitaria.com/Galleries/Uniforms.html , and then you pays your money. http://www.epicmilitaria.com/section.php/97/1/ww2-german-camouflage-uniforms & http://www.by-the-sword.com/p-1164-german-wwii-tan-water-reversible-winter-parka-ac-1115.aspx seem to have them.

OK - because I am sad, I loaded up the DVD of the film. The packs look like the Swedish ones mentioned (authentic kit meets the reality of filmmaking, filmmaking wins), and the parka pattern is a grey splinter pattern. You first see them on the camo side hung up on hooks around the 1hr 50min mark. They are quite grey, with the splinter pattern fair randomly spread, and a lot less dense than the one below. This is the nearest match I can see regarding the real thing

Its here - http://www.germanmilitaria.com/Heer/photos/H036170.html , and will set you back $2000!

The nearest repro I could find was here: http://www.surcompany.com/listing12-parkas/parkas.html , or this: http://sturm-miltec.com/WWII Rero US catalog.2.html

There is this one, but its not quite 'right' : http://www.epicmilitaria.com/product.php/548/splinter-camouflage-padded-parka

Glad I've got that out of my system!
