just a little bit of fun really but what is your favourite piece of bushcraft kit. for example items you have more of than you actually need.
I myself have loads of compasses, plus loads of hydration systems and water bottles
i have however got two zebra billy cans.
swedish army trangia kit
german army mess kit
us army mess kit
british army mess tins
two trangia kettles
camelbak thermobak british issue dersert colours 3 litre
webtex auquatex hydration pack two litre
us army two quart collapsable canteen
msr dromedary 4 litre
dont know why we collect all these things when we only use perhaps one of each at any given time.
so now its your turn???

Tough one, but at the moment "Nordic summer". Just love that smell and handy for the midges at the moment

Probably my canoe right now. It lets me get to places I'd never see otherwise, plus I get to take two of everything in my kit too :)

In the woods if possible.
My Optimus Hiker 111B, no question, hands down, the winner.

I do have quite a few other stoves, but that that's my favourite. Does an outstanding job, reliable, small enough for the bike, cheap to run, works in any weather. I love it.

Of course it's not much good on its own... :)

Its amazing to see so much diversity in what we like best, funnily though I bet we all have loads of knives we have bought/ made looking for the right one, perhaps we never do !! at least some of us!!! As you will have gathered from my other posts my love affair re bushcraft tools / kit has to be compasses, suppose it could be something to do with looking for lifes direction. i just love the buzz i get from them when i'm using them in the dark. in fact if i were to find a new line of business I think I would want a map and compass shop. I have loads of compasses and I suppose its like the knife collecting thing. I have even made my own in the shape of a bird. which is suspended from a length of fishing line and hangs on a cherry tree in my garden.
I cant get enough of them!!

Now that is a tough one!
I get most satisfaction from the items I have made myself - belts, pouches, knives, billies etc etc - I cannot realy come down to an all out favouritr across the board......
At the moment though I guess it has to be my hand forged strike-a-light, (made in a forge I improvised myself, burning charcoal I cooked myself) that lives in a pouch I made myself and using charcloth I cooked myself....and it lives in a "possibles pouch/sporran" I made myself (along with lots of other kit) on a belt I made myself :)
In winter it might be my "Blanket Hoodie" (see my Avatar) and matching bunnet...again made them myself!
When hungry it could be the nettle and wild garlic soup I made myself, washed down with some hedgerow wine/nettle beer I made myself, cooked in a billie I made myself, on a hobo stove I made myself, fueled with the wax/sawdust solid fuel I made myself...eaten using a spoon I carved myself...
It realy is hard to make an all out winner of it all realy!

Got to be my Tilley hat. I wear it ever day (and it shows), and it comes in so handy. Today it was a basket for putting cherries in as I foraged along a local road verge.

If I leave home without it, I turn around and go back. Can't think of any other bit of kit I will do that for.
