Are the Webtex survival straws any good?
I am thinking of getting one as a lightweight back up.
I have a MSR mini works for a longer trips and I am also a millbank fan. but...........
Opinions?

I don't know about the straws but I have the survivapure waterbottle and it's a very good piece of kit. I tend to carry it instead of carrying water these days. It's very light and foolproof. I have every confidence in using it in fairly polluted water courses that are affected by sewage, farm run off etc. I wouldn't be without mine.

Do they kill everything in the water? The sales literature isn't clear.
Other systems are smaller than 2 microns? Does it kill viruses etc by some extra method, it doesn't seem to mention iodine etc

PREPER.............

I'm sure it's great, but I'd never drink from anything that had farming runoff in it. carbon core can only absorb so much before it leaches back into the water
