You cant beat that! We get one in our garden now and again. I like birds of prey, they do butcher the occasional wood pigeon, or sparrow on the lawn.
Theres a regular kestrel in the fields opposite the house as well. Nice photo.

Great picture. I was out last night listening to what seemed to be five Tawny Owls at the back of my garden. Very rarely see Sparrowhawks where I am though.

Saw one take one of your namesakes a little while ago, the sky went black with it's mates mobbing it trying to get free.

we regularly get a sparrowhawk hunting in our garden - quite a compliment to its wildlife - but not seen her for a few wks, hope she's OK.

I managed to get a couple more pics, but most suffered from really bad camera shake - I couldn't use flash (inside for a start and it would have reflected off the kitchen window, not to mention scaring off the bird) and the kitchen has a flat roof so it was cold this morning.
