WANTED: Wood chopping block

Does anyone in the South-East have access to any wood I can use as a chopping block? Happy to pay and pick up (we live near Croydon)

Any forestry walks near you ? You can pick up stumps from the roadside if they've been discarded in the collections.

We're going for a walk over Wimbledon Common tomorrow. I noticed they had done some management of the woods there so depending on whether I can sneak any away in a rucksack without being spotted by one of the rangers, that may work but I didn't want to count on it... (silly byelaws)

I did think that, but thought I'd ask locally first - though ofc, that's an option that would work if he has anything

What sort of chopping block are you after... one for axe work?

If so the keep an eye open for any tree surgeons at work

I have a few large rounds of cedar waiting to be split down - one of those might do you.

Any firewood supplier will let you have one for a couple of quid. Preferably a knotty stump that would be hard for them to split
