Lovely this is something iv been wanting to have a go at.

It's easier than I envisaged, I followed ray mears' video

And used about 5 stalks to do this. The one thing that I found myself doing was letting the two strands twist whilst I rolled the two strands, and found its much tighter to roll then twist.

Stinging nettle cordage is a winner with our visitors to our Iron Age presentations. Wife does the cordage and I pick the nettles. For school visits and some others I show how to pick and strip them bare handed. Easy enough to avoid getting stung unless a stray nettle gets you unawares in which case one smiles and carries on while mildly screaming inside.

Ha, my organisational skills come from me escaping to the garage to avoid the wife/crap TV/Whiney son and then finding things to do to justify my escape!
