Hey guys,
Im wanting to get some of the ullfrotte line (socks, jacket, hat).

I know Ray Mears has some on his site. Does anyone know of any other suppliers? Google doesn't bring up much.

While we are on the topic, has anyone used this stuff before? Comments?

many thanks,
nigel

it's excellent kit, but being knitted, it can be a bit susceptable to pulled threads and the like, when carrying big armfuls of firewood without anything over it for example.

got mine from ray's place.

cheers, and.

I am using jacket, balaclava and socks. The jacket is great I have been using this for seven years now, never leave home without it. It´s warm, doesnt start smelling after several days of wearing. A positve thing with it is this http://www.soldf.com/images/varmetroja90_3.jpg

The socks i´ve been using is the sports model and they are just great especially when it s cold.

The balaclava can be used in sveral diffrent ways here is some pictures how it can be worn http://www.soldf.com/hjalmunderlag90.html

What weight is best suited for the UK climate 200, 400, or 600grm?

Cheers

Shaun

Since I dont live in the UK I don´t know wehat works best over there. But the 200g is best used next to you bode and the 400 and the 600 best used as a midlayer. Mine is an army issue and I think it´s 400g it works perfect with a shirt under.

I just ordered some today from woodlore so will be able to tell you what I think.

For base and mid layering I am a huge fan of Icebreaker www.icebreakernz.com and recommend it.

Their mid layer has handy thumb loops built in.

They dont do a practical outdoors jacket though.

cheers,
