Hi

I've been given a dutch oven as a present and want to make a supporting tripod.

I plan to use a chain and hook set up to vary the height over the fire, but is there a length anyone can recommend for the tripod legs?

They will be made of 12 mil high tensile rebar.

Thanks in advance for the good advice I know will come this way.

[FONT=&amp]As above between 4-5 foot. 5’ is generally considered on the long side.. -- If you make two of the legs with eyed ends and one leg with a hooked end you can use it either as a normal tripod or alternatively by pushing the two eyed legs into the ground and slide the third leg through those eyes for suspension of utensil.

Thanks guys - have gone for 4 ft lengths - can't wait to get them and give them a go - mind you I need to find a length of chain.

I have one that will be ideal - I put it in a "safe place" though - God knows where it is.
