I have a horse hoof fungus but I am finding it hard to peel the outer layer off to get at the Amadou any suggestions on how to make it easier to get at so I can get a large piece ?

There is another thread on this but I can't find it for the life of me. Still here's how I did it. Soak it for a while and then peel it off with one of those D shaped potato peelers. Sounds daft but it does work.
