The old home town looks the same as I step down from the train,
and there to meet me is my Mama and Papa.
Down the road I look and there runs Mary hair of gold and lips like cherries.
It's good to touch the green, green grass of home.
Yes, they'll all come to meet me, arms reaching, smiling sweetly.
It's good to touch the green, green grass of home.
The old house is still standing tho' the paint is cracked and dry,
and there's that old oak tree I used to play on.

Down the lane I walk with my sweet Mary, hair of gold and lips like cherries.
It's good to touch the green, green grass of home.
Yes, they'll all come to meet me, arms reaching, smiling sweetly.
It's good to touch the green, green grass of home.

[spoken:]

Then I awake and look around me, at four grey wall surround me
and I realize that I was only dreaming.
For there's a guard and there's a sad old padre:( -
arm in arm we'll walk at daybreak.
Again I touch the green, green grass of home.
Yes, they'll all come to see me in the shade of that old oak tree
as they lay me neath the green, green grass of home.:)

Don't forget the Actions aswell :D

What's that? Pass to Wilkinson and hope he kicks it over the bar before his knee gives way again...

;)

(from a scottish hypocrite... The actions for Flower of Scotland appear to only extend to kicking the ball into touch, or dropping it. In the true sportsman's spirit, sometimes we just give the opponents the ball if they ask nicely)

Come Sat you will have to learn the words to "Swing low Sweet Chariot":D

Oops,
Looks like one of the wheels has come off again John :D

We don't want to be
your enemy
but when we're on the field
it red white and green.
We were beaten by the Irish
got beaten by the Scots
the French had some trouble
but you're the ones we want, we want
So long as we beat the English,
so long as we beat the English
we don't care!

It must be the time of the evening, or the time of year, or perhaps its just me, but I haven't understood a word of this thread!:p

Fred - try singing "Flower of Scotland"...
on second thoughts maybe "World in Union"....I, as an Englishman living in Wales, have devellopped a sore throat that stops me singing anything just now......

:D Its all a load of namby pamby full back tennis anyway.

Real men play rugby league.

Not the elitist, underhand, backhanded "ohhhhh we have only just turned pro really"

:buttkick: Ban him ! ban him ! he is wearing league studs and they are too long for stomping on his head with must be shorter union approved studs ;)

Stands proud with my chest out and head held high, unafraid of all the girlys who follow the other game :D
:soapbox: :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

before I get lynched I have played both codes

southern pansies play union.

Real men who can actually tackle on their own and not have to wait for 10 of their mates to turn up before they attempt to take somebody down play league. Even when they do turn up they just give him a big group huig and not actually tackle him. Then have the cheek to say its part of the game and even give it a name.....ruck and maul...... now does that sound like a game for gentlemen ;)

I have played hooker, second row prop, loose forward, full back and wing at league. I started out on the wing and as I put weight on a bulked up I moved into the hooker role then moved around as I was really a utility player but a hooker at heart.:D
All those positions in union and as soon as the team I played union for saw I was really a league player in disguise they put me at scrum half as the only one who could really pass the ball and not just stick it up your jumper :slap: and run.
:nutkick: :twak:
