I've had some flint out in the shed for the last while, a guy I work with gave me an old file used for horses hooves, I cut a three inch piece from the file making sure to keep it cool.I ground the file flat. I struck the steel of the flint, I got sparks. Today after work I made some charcloth not very good, but put it all together and hey presto a glowing piece of charcloth on the first or second attempt. Back to the title, I went to the Ireland meet up in Castle Ward ( thanks Anthonio) I was sitting beside this guy who took out a small pouch showed everyboby how to use its contents. I was last to try it, I couldn't believe how easy it was with the right materials. Back to the title thanks to Celtginger for showing me how to use a flint and steel with charcloth. Its now another skill I have.
