Spring hammocking.

Now that the warmer weather is upon us, I'm experimenting with my kit. I want to use an Alpini pack and gas mask bag. The idea is to get 48 72hrs shelter, sleep system, tools and food. Gas mask bag for food, Alpini for everything else. Has any one used a lightweight sleeping bag as a sleeve, on their hammock? Does it work like an all in one top/under quilt, or will it still compress the down beneath me and get cold.

Well I had a play with the sleeping bag hammock sleeve, and came up with this. the foot end is just held in place by the double ended zip, and I ran some shock cord around the head end to hold it snugly over my shoulders. Seems to work okay.

He tried it in another video in cold weather and it seemed to work ok.

Mick91 has done it, we went down to about -3 that night and he says he slept warm, not as tight fitting either by the looks of yours, 5,6 and 7th pictures in this thread
