Hi all,

Sorry I've not posted much here lately - a lot of my commissions have been non-bushcrafty lately, but here are a few pictures that might interest some of you. Since my membership renewal was last month I was reminded to start contributing some threads again!
Everything below is 100% handmade and hand-stitched from the finest Italian vegtan.

This is one I finished a few months ago but never shared. A very good customer of mine customer wanted an enclosed bag for his hultafors axe with a small pouch on the front for a stone and some gloves.
This one is made from the finest Italian vegtan and British 18oz canvas with solid brass hardware. All hand-stiched including the canvas. I really want to make one of these for myself when I have time, such a comfy way to carry the essentials for a few hours in the woods.

A few months back my cousin Jason over at Myler handmade knives made up this guthook skinner in d2 and asked me to make him a plain, but nice sheath to go with it. It was an odd shape, but I think the way it sits into the sheath now looks great.

My wallets are proving quite popular lately. Lots of people are commissioning them as gifts for friends and family and I've had great fun doing different carvings on them. One of the nautical ones was for an old sailor as a gift from his brother. He was delighted when he saw the ship and to my relief he didn't say it was rigged wrong or anything.
Some of these are four card wallets, some are six card wallets with two hidden pockets. Here are some of my favourites:

Lastly, as some friends on here were interested, this is the saddle of my own bike that I use to advertise at my stall at biker events. This is one of the most detailed carvings I've ever done. I spent today braiding the edges with a devilishly time consuming Mexican braid, but it'll be worth it in the end.

To give you an idea of the colour the saddle will end up, here is the fender bib for the back of the same bike - braiding yet to be done on this one though:

Hope you like the pictures. Back to canvas stitching tomorrow and a nice duffel bag commission.

All the best,

Pete

Thanks, guys.

Leshy, I know why they stopped that calendar at 2012 now - talk about tedious! Haha

Love the rucksack! Was it difficult to make?

Thanks. I guess in normal terms I would say yes, but I do this for a living now so I have built the necessary skills over time.

Mostly it is time consuming to do everything by hand the traditional way, but the results are most certainly worth it in my opinion... and the customer's too I suppose :)

Beautiful work. The results speak for themselves. Just made my first knife sheath, so I have a bit to go yet :)

Thanks, Geebe.
The first thing I ever made from leather was a sheath for a bowie knife. I'd be ashamed of my life to show it to anyone though! haha

Thanks, Dreadhead. Can't beat a bit of leather and canvas. It gives a bag some soul, I think :)

Thanks, Amy. I use Italian vegtan leather - made the traditional way from a family tannery. It's great stuff.
