Ive got some wood that is in good condition but was dead standing. As a consequence it is very dry and hard to work with. Is it OK to soak the wood (dont even know what it is) and for how long should it be soaked??

soaking it won't make it green/fresh again. Once it dries the cell walls collapse which is an irreversible process.
