sharpening blades and axes

is it just me or is there something really therapeutic about sharpening a good blade, parang or axe to a razors edge?

No it's not just you. You are right, there is something theraputic about sharpening a good blade.

I agree entirely, its great to get a knife or especially an axe all cleaned up and into working order, especially when you start to get that mirror finish with the waterstones.

Definitely not just you, sometimes i sharpen a blade that really doesn't need attention just because of the relaxing enjoyment i get from the act of sharpening although wanton sharpening is usually reserved for my least expensive blades (mora, bak etc) whereas wanton stropping is applied universally.
