Sami pouch

Finally made a Sami style pouch. Like this shape a lot, think I'll have to try out different sizes, maybe wax them, we'll see ...

Nice. Superb way to store small items, and prevent them from disapoearing to the inaccessible bottom of your pack!

Do you plan to make a skin one for your coffee?

I'm more of a sewing machine and fabric man so I guess my coffee will have to go elsewhere.

Lately I've used an electric machine but a muscle powered model is oiled and ready, great tool:

@vestlenning Are you aware of what the original Sami leather pouches are made of?

I have seen one in the Arjeplog Silver museum ( or the Etnograpic museum in Stockholm?) that looked like it was made from the scrotum of a reindeer.

The coolest ones I have seen were made from the leg portion of a reindeer skin. Naturally tubular, so less sewing.

No. Just no. I can't say for absolutely certain that there aren't any made with some leather from the scrotum in all of Sapmi...my grandparents, at least, did not do it that way.
