Visited my nephew on Thursday, he lives in Ilchester, I had a walk along the river nearby and wondered about the fishing, I'd like to have a dabble when I go down there again in July, does anyone know anything about permits etc?

for you foragers, what's this fungi? I've seen it before on the site but can't remember.

I used to live in Ilchester and used to back onto the Yeo. The Old Vicarage, last place on the right as you head towards Yeovilton.
I know "mick's tackle box" in Yeovil used to sell permits but it's closed down now.
Try these?

Pike, perch, roach, most course fish. The weir near Yeovilton village was popular.

I think that could be Polyporus Squamosis or "Dryads Saddle"

Cheers, Harry, nephew's wife is gonna enquire at a PO for me, the farmer has diverted the river slightly due to waterlogging, looks okay.

QM, I'm sure I've seen on here a topic about the fungi, it is the biggest I've ever spotted.
