Could anyone recomend books on knife making suitable for begginers?

I was considering Step-By-Step Knifemaking: You Can Do It! (Paperback)
by David Boye as its on Amazon UK.

I've got Bo Bergmans book but thats mainly about handling and sheath making bought blades.

Theres plenty on the net about it but I'd like a good old fashioned book, if I can find one.

Cheers

Tom

I've got David Boye's book, in fact it was the first book on knifemaking I got. It's definitely a good starters book. I also have the $50 knife shop, which is great and How to make knives by R. Barney and R. loveless, which shows a variety of different ways of making blades. I just need to get Bergmans book now, I'll do you a swap :)

i would say that the best beginers book, especially if aiming for a cheap set up, would be Wayne Goddard's $50 Knife Shop.

But really, I would say that the easiest way to learn is to have somebody show you how to do it. so go (come) on a course ;)
