Use them raw or cooked like onions - roasted or fried, chopped or whole. I personally describe them as tasting somewhere between an onion and garlic. Don't need many per meal at all. Young leaves would be a better 1st choice, as there is less damage to the plant, but if it's on your land ad thats what you want to munch - go for it, they make any bland bush meal tasty.. :D

Yup i agree :)

Flowers, leaves and bulbs. A great one for the bulbs is to chop them fine, add them to a bit of hot oil in a pan, then add some chopped jack by the hedge leaves and use as a baste for chicken or beef kebabbs. Use green de-barked hazel for the kebab sticks and add onion, tomato, peppers and simply stick in the floor in front of the fire.

Oh and warm up the pita bred on a hot rock at the same time.

Hungry now

Slice the bulbs finely diagonally and flash fry in butter, add thin slices or venison or hare and cook quickly in the jus.

Disappears surprisingly quickly

:D
