Thought I'd take the boy down to the harbour with one of the prawn nets my grandad used to make. I'll get into the technicalities of it in another thread if people so wish, but this is about the day.





Bit of short wait.



Got himself a prawn. He didn't like any of the crabs we caught, had to throw them away pretty sharpish.


Got a few more.


Just enough prawns for a sandwich, supplemented with a banana first! We were the only ones who noticed the rain coming in from the sea so packed up and left everyone else to get wet.

Cool, looks like you both had fun. Nothing like fresh seafood. Doing it from a harbour wall, the beach or a boat?

A wee net tutorial could be good too!

Looks like fun. Do you eat the prawns raw?

Ooh no, either boiled in salt water and then covered with a bit of tomato puree mixed in some mayonnaise and black pepper or pan fried with a bit of spring onion, garlic, lime and chilli pepper.
