I am posting here since a report query was raised on a recent sales post, regarding Paypal vs bank transfer and forum policy.

In the summer of 2020 there was a bit of confusion over this, which was straightened out in November 2020, when Tony updated the Rules:

While use of Paypal is encouraged, there is no restriction against using other payment methods.

Who’d want to fill the PayPal coffers any further? And particularly with their hard earned wages? It’s what’s wrong with the world right now....massive organisations in control of everything.

It depends how much you trust the seller. Paypal offers you protection on purchases unless you choose to go down the Paypal Friends & Family route.

You both have valid points and that's reflected in the freedom for the buyer to choose if they buy or not.
We prefer PayPal because it offers some protection to the buyer and to some degree to the seller, but if two adults decide that they want to trust each other and do business together that's up to them, they accept there's no protection and the consequences are their own to deal with.

I'm going to close this thread to conversation, its purpose is for information (thanks for posting it Chris)
