Ostrich eggshell necklace

I brought a white necklace in oxfam today for £2 it is made from over 100 beads made from ostrich eggshell. I was going to use them for my own craft stuff, but someone took a while to make it. Very plain though.

We made some jewelry when I was in Namibia with the Bushmen. It's actually quite labourious so for £2 that's a bargain!

These days they actually struggle to get the shells themselves, we're trying to get some from UK ostrich farmers to send out to them (broken eggs, as whole ones go for lots of money).
