One advantage to managing woodland is you get to play with the offcuts. So with some coppiced hazel from October, an old oak that I planked (offcut from a culvert project I have been building) and a disc from an oak that fell into the river last August I thought I would make some garden furniture.

After fitting the legs then adding some linseed oil brought the grain out. I went for three legs as the garden is not that flat and four legs would rock all the time.

Quick nip in the woods to collect some more coppiced hazel and the table was a quick build, still needs a rubdown but it's had a few coats of Danish oil to help reduce splitting.

Excellent work! They look really good. I'm sure I've seen similar rustic furniture for sale before, at craft shows and the like, and items like those command high prices, and they are probably not as good as yours.
