Luckily for you readers, I'm shattered enough to shut up for once ;)

There's lovely mushroom rings where we're set up...

And the woods are alive with flora :) Digitalis from underneath....

Ohhh, while I'm banging on about flora, I spotted this beauty in our local woods in SE Leic too, so nice I thought I'd add it here!

The mozzies are out in force- this is nothing compared to what it blew up into but the swelling is as fine a natural cure for old wrinkled skin like mine that I've ever found! I amassed 30 in 2 days, one poor unfortunate was stung on the lip so if you're coming net weekend, deet 50%+ and antihistamines are strongly advised ;)

Martins new parachute was a nice little work party to clear for after a woodland walk path clearing :) It really does look like 'morning prayers' with them admiring the lofty halls of air underneath it, it's gonna be a superb work area for the communal projects next weekend.

And here's a rarely seen woodland native, usually secreted behind a veiwfinder so very hard to get into a shot in his natural environment without the camoflage of a camera ;)....

Martins' special Liquid Energy was definately in order the next morning!

After a good walk pathclearing with laplanders, we had a well earned brekfast... still smiling, naturally enough as it's been a lovely 'git r dun' weekend.

So the paths are cleared, communal areas are set up and the stage is set for an amazing Centinary Fair next weekend! Can't wait, bought the deet and antihistamines already, the deer skins are ready to finish up there and I'll be ordering the jerky meat tomorrow.... happy daze :)

I keep learning the hard way but it's a lesson I'll not forget in a hurry, Bodge :) deet and antihistamines have a well deserved space in the bergen from now on! Is there anything you particularly recommend (or indeed advise especial caution) for the young 'uns on the mozzie/ repellant/ bite soothing front?

Sal, I have issues with putting deet anywhere near my body tbh, and wouldn't dream of putting it on Adam. I have used deet in the past before I knew better. when I got bitten last year at NW it was within seconds of taking my bag off my back to dig out my anti mozzie cream. I just cover up as best I can and use "Bugger off" repellent. Alternativley smear jam on everybody elses pitch to lure them away from you.

Is that because of suspected neurological implications or an especially senstive skin? And is Bugger Off really a brand or what everyone says when they spot you advancing on their pitches with jam and an evil grin?!
