The author George W. Sears often referred to himself as ''Nessmuk'', but can anyone tell me why?
Was there a particular reason for him choosing this name (if it was indeed a chosen name, rather then a name given to him) and does it mean anything?

He was befriended by a native American in his youth and he gave GS the name. I think it means "Wood Drake" in the language.
