Mobile Metal Detectors at Birmingham New Street Station

On the Midday news they show a series of knife searches going on using mobile metal detectors, at Birmingham New Street. There is a 12 city list they are going to do this at.

What does this mean for travel do you think?

Going to post this over at British Blades because have heard stuff that you cannot even take EDC's into a Station. Very Interested in Danzo's take on this.

Edit: Typical media. It showed Birmingham New Street, but must have been some other time, it was just saying they are rolling 138 of these knife arches out accross the country.

Hmm I think it won't be long before they roll them out at major tube stations. So may have to start leaving my SAK at home when I goto work.

By the sounds of it you are lucky to have missed them. This is a London based idea, they are rolling out to the rest of us.
