I was looking in some charity shops today and came across a merino/polyester (50:50) blend jumper for £4.50. It was quite thin, lightweight, felt nice and soft and didnt look too bad either, but has anyone had much experience with such a blend? Do you still get the good wool properties like insulation when wet, lack of odour, not flamable? I'm wondering if it would be a good mid layer for these late summer days when their is a slight chill in the air from time to time, but a full on 200gsm merino is a bit much.
Apologies if this has been covered before but all I could find was mention of Higher % Merino blends in some arctic shirts.

Cheers

Colin

I have a merino blend (though uncertain of the mix) Helly hansen light mid layer and its very good. Wore it for 2 weeks in Canada 2 winters ago and it didn't once get smelly and was nice and warm.
