evening all! myself and a few amigos are off on a bit of a trip tomorrow, planning to spend a night out in open on the Malvern hills and getting to spend the day out and around the 3 counties area- does anyone know of any good surplus shops/ stuff to do around here?

You could try Shepards surplus thats out that way. Not sure what its like now but as kids it was great with the jet, wessex and abbot parked on the grounds.

unfortunatly Shepards has very little surplus these days! alot of it is fashionable outdoors type cloths and camping stuff. or atleast it was when i was last there (about 8 months ago)

Malverns ?

Journey a little further to the Beacons and you'll not have the same problems, plus the best army surplus shop in the region..

Malvern Conservators can be very precious about "their" hills. Also, it is very crowded almost every day of the week. There are some bits of woodland where you could hide but it would be a question of camping late and leaving early (morning dog walkers, joggers, etc.) Since the days are so long, there might be people around quite late at night. The southern end that borders the Eastnor estate is quieter and more wooded.
