I can see my wife shouting at me for "poisoning" the blender now :D
interesting that the horse hoof fungus (Fomes fomentarius) is one listed as making the best paper, perhaps its to do with its ability to burn?

That link is interesting; I've saved it and might try at the weekend!

It seems a bit counter productive using two sheets of blotting paper for every sheet of fungi paper! I guess the blotting paper isn't completely necessary?

You can make paper with a heck of a lot of things, but most need to be seriously ground up first.
I know a paper maker who bought a machine that slowly grinds up denims and turns it into fibres for papermaking

Fomes used to be used to make hats (like bowlers, sort of) on the continent.

If you want to try paper making easily though, try nettles.
They make good papier mache too :D

cheers,
Toddy

You are ment to be able to make it with birch polypore but its so tough you cant cut it that thinly. You could dry the entire bracket then try and cut it., and its used for blotting paper aswell.
