Recently my daughter and I had some time off so we went out to the mountains to sleep in a rock cave and do a little bushcraft. While we were up there we filmed a short video of how I make cordage from raw Imbira bark, starting with the tree and ending up with about 15 feet of cord. My method for rolling cordage is a little different, but it works for me. Maybe it will work for you too.

I would appreciate any feedback. I'm new to this whole youtube/video thing.

Thanks for the feedback. My method is a little different, it came about from my total inability to roll cordage on my thigh. Thigh rolling is much faster if you can handle the pain of ripping out a 4x12 inch patch of fur!

Imbira is a fantastic resource for bushcraft/survival. The poles grow very straight and long and are covered with enough bark to make loads of cordage. The raw bark strips can be used as is to lash the poles together for shelter. It is like working with web strap. Mac

ETA - Abushcrafter, thanks of the tip. I'm new to this whole youtube thing.
