Since i'm going to work this summer at Skansen (a big outdoor/living history museeum in Stockholm) at the "Same viste" (Sami camp in eng.) i have been doing some research and came up with some links that you might find intresting.

This is the search site that the 6 links below are taken from. http://www.nordiskamuseet.se/exhibs/sameting/same1.aspx?topmenu=144 .It's only in swedish so linked to some searches that you might find intresting. But i don't know if they work since the url looks the same for every one.
Edit:The links are not working for me i only get the page about neddle houses, so bellow i have made a dictonary so you can search the site by your own.

Neddle houses and sewing stuff. http://www.nordiskamuseet.se/exhibs/sameting/Same2.aspx
Matchstick boxes. http://www.nordiskamuseet.se/exhibs/sameting/Same2.aspx
Rucksacks. http://www.nordiskamuseet.se/exhibs/sameting/Same2.aspx
Cups. http://www.nordiskamuseet.se/exhibs/sameting/Same2.aspx
Knives. http://www.nordiskamuseet.se/exhibs/sameting/Same2.aspx
Spoons. http://www.nordiskamuseet.se/exhibs/sameting/Same2.aspx

In the second scroll list, Words on the left in my list are what you are searching for, the ones to the right the word your looking for in the list

Neddle houses and sewing stuff- Sömmnad
Matchstick boxes- Tändsticksfodral
Rucksacks- Ryggsäckar, kontar
Cups- Kåsor
Knives- Knivar
Spoons- Skedar

very envious of you working at Skansen, one the best places in the world.
Something to make you more envious, next fall there's a high chance that will be attending the first year woodworking course at Sätergläntan. It would be nice to see you there.

Hi
all the link below takes you to the home page then follow links for pictures etc, if using google chrome the translator will translate page for you

I just spent an hour wandering around the web site, I took a postgraduate Heritage course after my history degree and Hazelius was a recurring figure. My Career moved on into IT and away from the Heritage field but that site was such a powerful blast from the past it has got my interest going again!!!

Thanks Kotteman, my wife will be so excited when I start disappearing visiting sites and reconstructions/re-enactments again! lol

I'll be working at Jamtli this summer (Skansen equivalent, but in Östersund for those of you unfamilliar with it), so I expect that you will have a very fun time at Skansen. The most fun is in talking in role to the visitors (my fondest memory was being totally obtuse as to what a match(1) was when a visitor was asking). That and doing crafts in role, showing that yes, one can make things with few tools, and pretty nice things too.

There is some sami stuff at Jamtli -- including a lavu -- but it has not been occupied for a long time, if ever (non-Sami playing Sami is a sensitive issue up here, and for some reason...). Yes, there is Swede -> Sami racism, alive and well in some quarters.

If anyone here is passing by Östersund this summer give me a holler.

(1) Trying to figure out if she had a strange dialectal way to say "töresticka" (pine fatwood stick) when she said "tändsticka" (match), but that was not it *either*: Everyone knows that steel and flint is the way you start a fire, even if I *had* once seen an old sami man start it with a bowdrill, was that what she was talking obout?
