Its an interesting tree, self cleaning , needs that in London . Looking at the tree and shrub guide we even get it in Central Scotland, didn't know that.

Have fun trying to light it I tried it last year and tbh it did not work too well. Maybe if it was mixed with something else it would work. It just fizzled and died.

I beleive it makes a very hot fire once you collected a few buckets & placed it on the flame, it smolders very hot , as does dryed acorns.

That's a good picture of the bark - I've often thought of getting such a picture onto fabric somehow, Realtree style.
Nice wood for turning too.
