learning the basics of survival

Hi
i am new to bushcraft and was wondering where to go where to go near kent where i can do all things required to survive legally
i will also like to go on a week long expedition in the UK bringing only the bare minimum needed to survive
any info would help and info on any company or organisations that plan these expeditions

I think you're spoilt for choice when it comes to courses down in the south east, why not get yourself booked onto a week long course and see how it goes.

The Woodsmoke Aboriginal Course (http://www.woodsmoke.uk.com) is a great course, 5 days, a pot and a knife.

I've been on a natural pathways course and can recommend it. Not sure if they do expeditions though.

There is a lot of info on the site about suitable places, mostly though it shows that suitable places are few and far between in the South of England.

Anyway, you don't need to do much of anything to "survive" for three or four days. You will be just fine starving under a tarp, so long as you have enough water. If you are just starting out, I believe you will learn more, and enjoy yourself more, if you don't just pack the bare minium to "survive". There's plenty of threads about the differences between bushcraft and survival also on the forum
