Last day of the season

Today was the last day of our pheasant shooting season, there was no snow in Falkirk we seen more than plenty up the hills!

This was about the standard of the day, between knee and waist high, this was my first peg!

This was the view from my second peg, the weather was like this all day, outstanding!

We do walk one stand one, we go right through some thick stuff which is great fun, I like crawling about getting stuck into it

My wee sister bought me a new Harris Tweed hat for christmas which was a god send for my ears

We did struggle to find some of our pegs

The cold and snow sort of envelopes you, today felt like I was on my own

Yip we got 20 odd pheasants 4 woodcock 2 partridge and 2 pigeons. Most of the guys that shoot with us were stuck at home with snow etc, so we had a few of the young ones out shooting to make up the numbers, it was great to see them getting involved. I think we did ok considering how deep the snow was!

this was my 'last one' for the season, glad I carry a catty in my bag or I'd have missed the chance!
